A standard pallet covers roughly 450 square feet, so a typical order for an average yard is 5 to 10 pallets. Delivery is a flat fee of $75 to $150 depending on distance and whether it is a single pallet or a full-yard order.

How much sod do I need?
Measure your yard in square feet, then divide by roughly 400 to account for a standard pallet plus waste from cuts around curves and beds. A 3,000-square-foot yard needs about 7 to 8 pallets. If you are not sure, call and give us the rough dimensions — we will tell you a pallet count for free, whether or not you order from us. Ordering a little extra is cheaper than a second delivery trip if you come up short on a tricky-shaped bed or an unexpected patch that needs replacing.
Installing delivered sod yourself
If you are laying it yourself, the two mistakes that cause the most failures are poor soil contact and inconsistent watering. Press each piece firmly against the soil rather than just laying it on top, stagger the seams like brickwork, and water heavily within 30 minutes of laying each section — sod that sits exposed to sun for more than an hour before its first watering stresses fast. We can, subject to farm cutting schedules. Most sod farms cut Monday through Thursday, so a Saturday delivery is usually sod cut on Thursday or Friday. If freshness matters most to you, a weekday delivery closer to the cut date will give you a better result.
