Bulk mulch delivery for DIY spreading

If you already have the labor and just need material, bulk mulch delivery gets you fresh product without paying for installation labor you do not need. We deliver by the cubic yard, dumped in your driveway or, for larger orders, blown directly into beds with our mulch blower truck, which saves the wheelbarrow trips entirely.

Bulk delivery is popular with homeowners spreading their own beds over a weekend, with landscapers who prefer to buy material separately from labor, and with HOAs handling mulch for common areas with their own maintenance crew.

What mulch delivery includes

  • Bulk material by the cubic yard — pine bark, cypress, pine straw or rubber, minimum order applies.
  • Driveway drop — dumped where you specify, or spread across a wider area to keep the pile manageable.
  • Blown-in option — for larger orders, our blower truck can deposit mulch directly into beds up to 200 feet from the truck.
  • Delivery window — a two-hour arrival window.
  • Coverage guidance — we help you calculate cubic yards needed so you do not over- or under-order.

What mulch delivery costs

Material runs $45 to $65 per cubic yard depending on type, plus a flat delivery fee of $50 to $100 depending on distance and order size. Blown-in delivery adds $15 to $25 per yard over a standard driveway dump, but saves substantial labor on larger orders since it eliminates wheelbarrowing entirely.

How much to orderOne cubic yard covers roughly 100 square feet at a proper 3-inch depth. Measure your bed square footage, multiply by 0.25, and round up — better to have a little extra than run short mid-job.

Driveway drop vs. blown-in

A standard driveway drop makes sense for smaller orders you will wheelbarrow yourself, or when the beds are close to where a truck can park. Blown-in delivery is worth the added cost on larger properties or beds far from driveway access — the blower truck can reach up to 200 feet with a hose, which turns what would be dozens of wheelbarrow trips into a couple of hours of raking to finish grade. It is also the better option when a driveway pile would block access to a garage or sit in the way for longer than a day, since the material lands directly where it needs to be instead of staging in a spot you then have to work around.

Installing delivered mulch yourself

Aim for 2 to 3 inches of depth, kept clear of plant stems and tree trunks by a few inches to avoid trapping moisture against them. Rake it level rather than leaving mounded piles, which shed water instead of holding it. Work from the back of the bed toward the edge so you are not walking through freshly spread mulch, and keep a tarp or extra plywood sheet down on the lawn where the pile sits to protect the grass underneath if it will be there more than a day. If you would rather skip the labor entirely, see mulch installation for our full-service option including bed prep and edging.

Ordering for larger properties

HOAs, commercial properties and landscapers ordering mulch regularly can set up a standing account with us rather than placing a one-off order each time. We track typical order sizes and preferred materials, and for large common-area jobs we can schedule multiple blown-in drops across a property in a single visit, which keeps the per-yard cost lower than repeat single-location orders.

Mulch Delivery FAQs

Yes. It is common to order pine straw for beds under azaleas and bark mulch for the rest of the property in the same delivery. Just specify quantities for each type when you order.

Yes. Properties that order mulch regularly can set up a standing account with tracked pricing, and for large common-area jobs we can schedule multiple blown-in drops across a property in a single visit.

One cubic yard covers roughly 100 square feet at a proper 3-inch depth. Measure your total bed square footage and multiply by 0.25 to get cubic yards needed, then round up slightly rather than running short.

Our blower truck deposits mulch directly into beds through a hose, reaching up to 200 feet from where the truck parks. It costs $15 to $25 more per yard than a driveway drop, but on larger orders it saves dozens of wheelbarrow trips and is usually worth it once you are ordering more than 5 or 6 yards.

Yes, typically 3 cubic yards for a standard driveway drop given the trip cost, though we will discuss smaller orders if you are combining mulch with another delivery. Blown-in delivery generally makes the most sense above 5 yards.

We give a two-hour arrival window rather than an all-day guess. Exact same-day delivery depends on our route that day; ordering a day or two ahead gives you more control over timing.

Yes. Pine straw is priced per bale rather than by the cubic yard, with a bale covering roughly 50 square feet at proper depth. It is a common request for beds under azaleas and other acid-loving shrubs.

Delivery means we bring bulk material to your property and you or your crew spread it. Installation means our crew handles the whole job — bed clearing, edging, spreading to correct depth and cleanup. Delivery costs less since there is no labor involved.

Yes, this is a regular part of our business, and we can set up recurring delivery accounts for landscapers and property managers who order regularly.
